Shopfont is a unique youth project based in Moville in Donegal. Our aim is to empower & support marginalised young people aged 14-25 by developing services promoting wellbeing.
Key elements that define & underpin our approach include.
The development of safe spaces
Peer Mentoring Training
Advocacy / 1 to 1 support
Spearheading a multi-agency partnership
We want to ensure young people using the service develop a sense of personal belief, awareness and esteem allowing them to play a full and active part in shaping their communities.
To do this we work with young people in developing programmes that maintain their sense of identity and purpose, by promoting self-determination based upon voluntary engagement and the promotion of harm reduction through education not only with the young people but in a wider community context.
Young people from the district have been taking part in the Moville and District Family Resource Centre Peace Bytes Group.
